Here Softwareassist.tk will be showing you how to create virtual machines on your host operating system. This means that after booting up Xp or Vista or Windows 7 or any other operating system you have, you can amazingly boot another operating system on your desktop in a window that is different from your host machine. In other terms if you have vista home premium you can boot linux, windows 7, windows xp and/or any other OS on that vista premium while vista premium is already booted.

I recommend that you have at least 3 GB memory on vista and 2GB on xp with a large enough hard drive space to use virtual machines.

The reason for using virtual machines is so that you can find out:

1. If my machine is compatible to run windows 7, vista and others without changing over your system to it which can be hectic.

2. how would it like before using it.

3. Check what programmes will work on these machines so you can know

4. "Well I want to use windows 7 but I also want to use windows xp"

5. Many other reasons.
